Terrafugia's World's First Flying Car

Terrafugia is a small, privately held American corporation that is developig a roadable aircraft dubbed the Transition. The next TF-X will have four seats, colllapsible wings, retractable propellers and an emergency parachute system. The best part is, it will be capable of driving and flying on its own! First delivary is scheduled for 2015.

Terrafugia expects initial deliveries of the Transition light sport aircraft in 2015 0r 2016. The plug-in hybrid-electric aircraft would take off and land vertically, like a helicoper -- if the DOT and FAA allowed i, you could literally fly over the highway whenever you run into traffic, though we can't imagine that pilots will ever get the green light to take off from public roads, even if the TF-X becomes a reality. For now, it exists only in the minds of Terrafugia's ambitious team.
